Marie lu's novel, Prodigy is about June and Day's adventure together. They arrive in Las Vegas just as the unimaginable happens: the Elector Primo dies, and his son Anden takes his place. With the Republic edging closer to Commander De Soto (Razor) chaos, the two join a group of rebels, the Patriots to get back at the republic for killing ones dear to their lives. The Patriots are eager to help Day rescue his brother, Eden and offer passage to the Colonies if he kills Anden. They want the nation to give voice to the people who have been silenced for far too long.

But as June realizes this Elector is nothing like his father, but a nice young man who wants best for the republic and it's people. June is haunted by the choice she has.
